    We need to focus on the fact that on a contingency budget when we didn't have extra money for classes, sports or clubs we had extra money $400,000 to increase teacher salaries. In the 2007/2008 budget with an 8% tax increase we were told once again that no money was available to reinstate classes at the high school, librarian or science teachers in the elementary. However we did have money in the budget to give a 6% increase in salaries to the teachers, pay 100% for dental coverage and to buyout Dennis's contract.

    Remember we were told that this was the best budget....not true. For all you parents of high school students your child's schedule will be in the mail within the next three weeks. If your child has two study halls or one study hall (when he or she) could be taking a class remember to thank the Board.

    Remember.....
    In the last two years our school portion of our property taxes have increased close to 20% and this what this means....

    WHAT WE DON'T HAVE....
    1. We do not have full-day high school (remember we couldn't afford to hire additional teachers at the high school to restore what was lost).
    2. We do not have a new reading program.
    3. We do not have foreign language in elementary.
    4. We do not have science teachers in the elementary.
    5. We do not have full-time librarians in the elementary.
    6. We only have one sports team at the middle school.
    7. We only have a limited amount of extra-curricula activities.
    8. A research based reading program to get EI out of the stone ages.

    WHAT WE DO HAVE...
    1. 6% salary increase for teachers. Welfare fund and Dental.
    2. Payment for two superintendents.
